The
Gold Coast being Australia's premiere holiday destination,
also makes it a place where many people dream of living -
superb weather, long beaches, scenic canals, excellent fishing,
abundance of golf courses, magnificent hinterland area, beautiful
homes - in other words, the Gold Coast gives you a great outdoor
lifestyle you cannot achieve in many of the other states.
The northern end of the Gold Coast is a boaties paradise
with so many access points to the Broadwater, the Seaway and
Pacific Ocean, Nerang and Coomera rivers and canals.
Golf courses in every direction, and the sporting hub is
at Runaway Bay with many sporting clubs and organisations
plus the Pro-One
Tennis Academy where aspiring tennis players train hoping
to become professional.
Cafes and restaurants plus cinemas can be found at Harbour
Town and Australia Fair. Major department stores are at
Runaway
Bay Shopping Village and factory outlet shopping at Harbour
Town. Helensvale will see in the near future, Westfield building
a major shopping centre. Alfresco eating and shopping is something
southerners just love on the coast!
Coomera
is the fastest growth area of the Gold Coast and where you
can build your dream home in new estates with natural gas.
Many areas of the Gold Coast does not have piped gas and as
mornings and evenings do get quite cool in winter (July),
you will be looking for some type of heating once you acclimatise.
Many builders build homes in around 14 weeks due to the great
weather.
Train stations are at Ormeau, Pimpama, Coomera, Helensvale,
Nerang and Robina further south. From Helensvale station,
the journey to Brisbane only takes 60 minutes so you have
more employment opportunities without sacrificing the Gold
Coast lifestyle. The M1 Pacific Motorway can get you to Brisbane
CBD in 45 minutes - no accidents of course!
Universities are at Southport and TAFEs can be found at Ashmore
and Southport with talk of another campus at Coomera. When
selecting primary and secondary school education, consider
the fact that you may have to travel a distance to take your
children to school. If you do not have a second car then Surfside
Buslines should be contacted for school bus routes.
